I found this beautiful resignation speech by Sarah Palin deeply inspiring;

So inspiring, I recorded my own resignation speech (for some reason Vimeo cut the sound off the first few seconds);

I had a really hard time keeping a straight face, often from bits I hadn't changed very much. I got a strange glee from substituting "milk" for "energy" in many places--the fact that she actually brought up the dairy industry in her speech cinched it.

I mean this as a HUGE compliment... your voice is like a young Wallace Shawn! I've never heard you speak before... very cool! If you go into theatre you could play his son, or some ghost from the past. Shawn is one of my favourite playwrights.

Thank you. I love Wallace Shawn too, though I didn't know he was a playwright.

I was actually doing a not-so-great Sarah Palin impression--I don't actually talk like that. this video is an example of my normal speaking voice.

Here's an interview where he discusses his plays. His writing has been extremely controversial and prone to censorship because of their (brilliant!) emotional and moral ambiguity.

I love all of your films, by the way!
