Chibnall wrote Broadchurch. I keep reminding myself of that. Broadchurch was good.

But he was never the right person to run Dr Who. Did no-one ever notice that the episodes he wrote for the show…

My favourite Newton role is Lukey- the "eccentric" painter- in Carol Reed's Odd Man Out. It allows him to go completely over the top.

I'm always amazed at how young Gertrude is.
